LIBER and the EOSCpilot Project at the Open Science Fair 2017

The Open Science Fair 2017 is an international conference that will take place in Athens, Greece, September 6^th-8^th 2017 and it is organized as “an emblematic initiative of four EU projects in the area of Open Science: OpenAIRE, OpenUP, FOSTER and OpenMinTeD”.

The purpose of this conference is to bring together different stakeholders (funders, policy makers, publishers, content providers, creators, Research Infrastructures/communities, researchers, institutions, libraries, innovators) in order to discuss the implementation of targeted aspects of Open Science and the elements required for this transition.

The EOSCpilot project, supporting the first phase in the development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) as described in the EC Communication on European Cloud Initiatives [2016], will contribute to the Open Science Fair 2017 by participating in four workshops:

Towards a Policy Framework for the European Open Science Cloud: the EOSC pilot perspective– September 7^th, 11:30, parallel session 3.
Open Science Monitor– September 7^th, 14:00, parallel session 4.
How FAIR friendly is your data catalogue?– September 8^th, parallel sessions 6 (09:00) and 7 (11:30).
EOSC meets enterprises’ needs!– September 8^th , 11:30, parallel session 7.

LIBER plays a significant role in the Engagement and Communication activities of the project and coordinates the engagement strategy that aims to establish effective and clear communication channels and outreach activities with various stakeholder groups, towards the goal of broadening the awareness on the value-proposition of the EOSC. LIBER also participates in the project’s activities that aim to identify and catalogue current competencies and capabilities and analyse future requirements.
