HORIZON 2020
The European Commission’s Horizon2020 funding programme is very high on LIBER’s agenda. The Board discussed how to facilitate the participation of LIBER members in this great opportunity for innovation among research libraries in Europe. It was agreed that the LIBER Conference would include a workshop on Horizon2020 and the potential for LIBER members. Each Steering Committee will also work to develop ideas for Horizon 2010 projects.
LIBER CONFERENCE
The results of the Conference survey were analysed, and a summary will shortly be circulated to members. Overall, the Conference achieved a satisfaction rate of 90%. Participants also used the survey to make a number of suggestions for improvement. The Board discussed how best to address these suggestions before the next Conference. Based on survey feedback, it was agreed to arrange the programme in a thematic manner, so that delegates could more easily identify and attend sessions of their interest. Planning progress related to the 2014 Conference was also discussed.
LIBER MEMBERS
The Board was informed about the current status of LIBER membership. LIBER continues to encompass over 400 members in Europe, and retains its place as the largest research library association in Europe.
OPENNESS
The Board discussed the importance of improving its openness and relationship with LIBER members. It was agreed that the call for nominations for Board members will be widely distributed among the LIBER community and participation encouraged.
The next LIBER Finance Committee and Executive Board Meeting will be held in London in February 2014.
